What is a Naturopathic Doctor (ND)?

A Naturopathic Doctor practices naturopathic medicine. Naturopathic medicine helps the sick to rebuild their bodies to heal itself. Naturopathic medicine includes medical and natural healing.

The following principles are the foundation of naturopathic medical practice:

Naturopathic medicine assists the body to unleash its inherent self-healing processes like the Immune System and the rebuilding of the entire body.

Naturopathic Physicians use processes that avoid harming the patient and avoid foods that have harmful side effects.

Naturopathic Physicians also acknowledge, respect, and work with each individuals’ self-healing processes.

They also recognize and employ the therapeutic potential of the doctor-patient relationship.

Naturopathic Physicians treat each patient by taking into account individual holistic physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, and other factors.

Finally, Naturopathic Physicians emphasize the prevention of disease by assessing risk factors, heredity and susceptibility to disease, and by making appropriate interventions in partnership with their patients to prevent illness.

Naturopathy covers the following: diagnostic and therapeutic modalities: clinical and laboratory diagnostic testing, nutritional medicine, botanical medicine, naturopathic physical medicine (including naturopathic manipulative therapy), public health measures, hygiene, counseling, minor surgery, homeopathy, acupuncture, prescription medication, intravenous and injection therapy, and naturopathic obstetrics (natural childbirth).

Dr. Guy is a licensed and certified Naturopathic Medical Doctor. She works in NuSpecies' Elmont Health Center on Friday, Sunday, and Monday.

Dr. Kayanne McDermott

Dr. McDermott is a licensed and certified Naturopathic Medical Doctor and works in NuSpecies' Brooklyn Health Center on Friday, Saturday, and Monday. Dr. E - Dr. E is available by appointment only to perform non-invasive testing of your body's chemistry and the health status of all your organs.
